Clever Cakes:: The Finishing Work Of Cake Decorating

Would you like a few clever suggestions to enhance the finished look of your cakes? Simple ideas that almost anyone can do that can make it look like a professional created your masterpiece.

You'll be amazed at how clever you will seem to make a fruit decorated cake. You'll also be surprised at the look on people's faces as you offer them a chocolate cake covered with whipped cream and a variety of yummy fruits. There are several different types of small fruits that are especially suitable for cake decorating. You might want to look at mangoes, figs, Kiwis, strawberries, orange sections, grapes, and even a variety of canned fruits such as spiced apples, peaches, berries, or even carefully placed fruit cocktail. All of these fruits are going to taste wonderful with whipped cream and cake.

Another yummy natural clever cake decoration can be nuts. You'll be amazed at what your finished cake can look like with a bit of coconut, Brazil nuts, almonds, cashews, or just about any other type of the nut. Avoid peanuts if you can unless you're sure no one is allergic to peanuts. You'll take and ice your cake with the basic chocolate or vanilla frosting, and then purchase sliced or chopped nuts to cover your cake with. Once again, the ooo's in the ahh's as you bring in your nut covered cake that looks like you ordered it especially made is especially nice.

Don't forget, organic plants and flowers that are edible are also beautiful clever cake decorations. Look for rose petals, calendulas, sweet violets, honeysuckle, bachelors buttons, just cover your cake with a little confectioners' sugar, or powered sugar, and then arranged these organic inedible plants around your cake.

As you can see, you don't have to get out colored icing, tubes of icing, or a bunch of different tips in order to enjoy clever cake decorating. Simple fruit, canned berries, a little powdered sugar, and even a few edible plants can allow you to decorate a cake quickly and easily and have it look like a professional. Don't forget, the whole point of cake decorating is to give a beautiful presentation of something that's going to taste as good as it looks. Start your cake decorating experience with the good basic cake, if you go cheap on anything; go cheap on the decorations but not on the basic cake.

Anyone and everyone can be clever and enjoy decorating a cake if you keep it simple, easy, and not too difficult as far as hand eye coordination. Even kids can ice a cupcake, and add a few colored sprinkles, and for that extra yummy experience, used whipped cream and a few natural fruits for a presentation that can't fail, and a taste you can't forget.

Manglish or Bahasa rojak. How can?

Mariam Mokhtar | January 27, 2012 Free Malaysia Today The inexcusable translation in our government departments is not just a question of lack of professionalism and education but, more importantly, of attitude, especially of those at the top. Comment on Manglish or Bahasa rojak. How can? by PoliticoKat

I am amused and rather glad. Finally after much neglect, the powers that be are finally seeing what decades of neglect has done to Malaysia's English proficiency. It seems that the average Malaysian government servant can't string a decent English sentence together anymore. And imagine, we really were rather good at that language... defending champion of the Commonwealth postmaster's competition ...
